1Prenatal Massage Therapy

Prenatal massage therapy shares many of the goals of regular massage therapy, such as relax muscles tension, decrease muscle pain, improve blood circulation and joint mobility. But the treatment overall uniquely modified to accommodate the needs of pregnant woman’s changing body. Treatment and the techniques can vary according the stages of pregnancy. Massage Therapy during pregnancy can be beneficial to pregnant women  with following conditions.

Sciatic Pain

Sciatic pain and/or piriformis syndrome during  pregnancy is mostly with compressed sciatic nerve due to the structural changes and piriformis muscle tightness. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is very common with  pregnancy and happens when there is a collection  of fluid in the tissues in your wrist which places pressure on your median nerve to causes the tingling and/or numbness in your hand. Pregnant woman with these conditions may also experience  lack of coordination and grip in your fingers and hands muscles. Our prenatal therapies focus on reducing the edema to reduce median nerve compression and  pain with tingling or numbness. Unique stretching exercises are given to maintain the pain and muscle coordination.

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

Thoracic outlet syndrome is another common condition with pregnancy. It happens mostly with tight pectoralis muscle due to abdominal weight and  postural imbalance. Our Prenatal therapies include muscle balancing and postural education to optimize your pregnancy. Unique chest opening exercise can be also helpful to reduce muscle tightness. Specific massage therapy treatment with specific techniques are applied with specific exercises to maintain muscle balance and tightness.

Cramps and Spasms

Cramps and spasms in pregnancy are mostly due to  the muscle tightens.
